NCWorks Career Center-Stanly Assists New Chick-Fil-A in Albemarle with Hiring

May 01, 2019

Stanly County’s first Chick-Fil-A has recently opened its doors in Albemarle! But before the chicken giant sold a single sandwich, they would need help with interviewing around 100 applicants. So, they turned to their local NCWorks Career Center.

Led by Center Leader Gus Vanegas, the NCWorks Career Center-Stanly staff got right to work by holding a Chick-Fil-A hiring event for job seekers to come and apply to various positions and interview with managers at the Career Center.

“Chick-fil-A is a big deal anywhere but especially in Stanly County because it's been rumored for years,” said Jim Kohn, NCWorks-Centralina NextGen Business Services Consultant for Stanly, Anson, Lincoln, and Union counties.

The new establishment’s owner, Tyler Bruce, caught wind of a lighthearted poem written by Kohn about the new restaurant coming to Stanly County and asked Kohn to share it at the Grand Opening in late March.

"We at the NCWorks Career Center were thrilled to be a part of your hiring process,” said Kohn before reading his poem at the event, "we very much appreciated that opportunity."
