Feb 21, 2020

Monroe Staffing reached out to the NCWorks Career Center-Mooresville to host a mini job fair, so a date and time and was scheduled and a flyer was posted in the center. As a result, the traffic increased as well as over 23 job seekers being hired to work directly for deBotech. Some of those new hires were recently laid off from Daimler Trucks Cleveland Plant, says Revonda Anderson, Career Advisor at the NCWorks Career Center.

"Being able to partner and collaborate with the staff here at the career center has been a tremendous opportunity particularly for the job seekers however, us as well. Thank you so much," said Jordyn Barham, with Monroe Staffing.

Just last month, NCWorks Career Center-Mooresville staff performed a Rapid Response at Fellfab, who laid off 70 employees. The NCWorks Career Center and its partners were able to assist those that had just received information of the lay-off only a day before.

NCWorks Career Center-Mooresville Center Leader Sylvia Jones said most of the employees were devastated but NCWorks and partners calmed fears and answered questions.

The majority of the laid-off employees had been working in their industry for over 25 years. After the Rapid Response session, many of them decided to immediately come into the NC Works Career Center and receive career guidance and employment assistance services.
