NCWorks Career Center-Lincoln Leader and Centralina WDB Member Becomes Principal for a Day in Lincolnton

Dec 19, 2019

On November 15, 2019, the NCWorks Career Center-Lincoln Center Leader and Centralina Workforce Development Board member Tony Simpson became Principal for a Day at G.E. Massey Elementary School in Lincolnton.

Simpson’s day started out meeting with Kelly Withrow, G.E. Massey Principal and Kristen Reynolds, Assistant. Principal. As the principal throughout the day, Simpson was able to sit in on two interviews and a long division tutoring session.

“Today gave me a partial insight into the daily life of a principal. A principal day must be fluid because they never know what's going come up,” said Simpson, “Principals create the culture in their schools, they must build good relationships with staff, teachers and students and I found

that G.E. Massey's culture is one of trust and respect. Great experience, I truly enjoyed my day at G.E. Massey I see why they are the best school in Lincoln County.”
