At their June 13,2017,the"Centralina Workforce Development Board (WDB)"approved a new service provider for WIOA Youth and Young Adult services. Effective July 1,2017,all youth and young adult services in the Centralina WDB region (Anson,Cabarrus,Iredell,Lincoln,Rowan,Stanly,and Union counties) will be conducted and carried out by ResCare Workforce Services for Program Year 2017." The services for youth and young adults in the Centralina WDB region have been rebranded as "NCWorks NEXTGEN" (powered by Centralina WDB).
NCWorks NEXTGEN staff at the NCWorks Careers Centers will assist youth and young adults ages 16-24 at the following 8 locations:

NCWorks NEXTGEN Services"partners with local organizations such as regional educational partners and community and civic agencies to provide needed services to youth. The leadership team for NCWorks NEXTGEN Services includes"Gary Mason,Centralina Workforce Services NEXTGEN Services Leader; Centralina Workforce Services Project Director,Ken McCoy; Centralina Workforce Services Deputy Project Director,Kim Carpenter; and Centralina Workforce Services Senior Talent/ Career Development Consultant,Amy Weatherman.
"We expect to leverage our regional approach to service delivery along with our NCWorks Career Center teams to engage and develop the next generation of talent that area employers are asking for," said Ken McCoy."

NCWorks NEXTGEN Services (powered by Centralina WDB) will continue to provide the following services to youth and young adults:
-"Career counseling/development with an emphasis on work readiness skills
- Career assessment - using"www.centralinacareerheadlight.com"
- Mentoring programs
- Supportive services geared towards assisting career success
- Access to education and skill enrichment programs
- GED readiness programs
- Work experience providing valuable job skills with region partners and employers
- On-the-Job training experience with area businesses
NCWorks NEXTGEN Services is now a statewide brand and will carry the same name no matter where an individual goes throughout North Carolina."
