Centralina Workforce Development Board Welcomes Narissa Knight as its Services Specialist

The Centralina Workforce Development Board has hired Narissa Knight as its Services Specialist effective Monday,November 14,2016.

Knight has an extensive case management and customer service background. She has worked as a family and child advocate for Access York Domestic Violence Shelter,(YWCA) leading the child advocacy program for abused children,families and adults,along with the Quantum Opportunities Program-QOP,mentoring adolescence,assisting them in their educational goals. Since in Charlotte she has worked as a Career Advisor and Resource Associate within the NCWorks Career Center network where she discovered her passion for Workforce Development.

Knight has been an advocate for community and people building for over 10 years. In 2009,she founded a nonprofit organization in Pennsylvania - Ancestor’s Dream Org.,which is still active today providing disenfranchised populace access to arts,educational programs and fairer economic stability.

Staring out in the mental health field and then progressively moving to case management and career development. I enjoy watching and taking part in the progression of others" -" Knight

Knight will serve as the primary support for the NCWorks Online system and providing related training while developing customized training for staff and partners; implementing and maintaining a current inventory system for all NCWorks Career Centers and Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) contractors; serving as the main event manager for all of the Board meetings of Centralina WDB; assisting Centralina WDB staff in the performance of research work and maintaining a variety of records and files.

She is excited to start a new chapter of service with the Centralina Workforce Development Board.
