Centralina NEXGEN Customer Lands Full-Time Job After Months of Work Experience!

Tramon Ingram-UCCATramon Ingram of Morven,NC was enrolled into the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA)"through Centralina Workforce Development Board’s NEXGEN Services on July 8th,2015." He started services as a high school dropout who was also the parent of a young daughter." He had little to no work experience when he came to Union County Community Action (UCCA),Inc." His main goal was find meaningful employment that would allow him to provide a better life for his daughter and himself ."

UCCA,Inc. enrolled Ingram in the GED program at South Piedmont Community College so that he could further his education." He was provided with many leadership sessions that taught him about soft skills and the importance of leadership." After weeks of classroom learning he was given an opportunity to intern with the Town of Wadesboro’s Street Department as a laborer." This internship gave him valuable work experience that would look great on his resume and provide him with transferable skills.

After interning with the Town of Wadesboro off and on for 9 months,Ingram was offered a full-time position as a laborer. He entered unsubsidized employment on September 26,2016." He is now making $11.00/hour and will be receiving full benefits after 6 months." He continues to attend his GED classes in hopes to complete his GED in 2017." Ingram is a great example that hard work and having a great attitude really pays off." UCCA,Inc. and the CWDB are very proud of Ingram’s accomplishments.
