Centralina Workforce Services Connects Nearly 1,000 Career Seekers With 180 Employers Through Local Job Fairs

The month of April has been a great month for career seekers and employers in the Centralina region. "The"Centralina Workforce Development Board"and"Centralina Workforce Services"held three major career fairs in Stanly,Rowan,and Union counties. "

On Thursday,April 6,2017,the"NCWorks Career Center-Union,Centralina WDB,South Piedmont Community College (SPCC),Union County Public Schools,and the Union County Chamber of Commerce"held a major job fair at"SPCC"s Charlotte Pipe & Foundry Conference Center in Monroe. " The Union County job fair had 80 employers and over 500 attendees.

"This was a great job fair with lots of good vendors. "It was well organized,and lots of fun things going on," said"Traci Smith,a Union County career seeker. "

The Stanly County Job Fair was held on Tuesday,April 11,2017 at"Stanly Commons"in Albemarle and had over 50 employers and 200 career seekers. "The"NCWorks Career Center-Stanly,Centralina WDB,Stanly County Chamber,Centralina NEXGEN Services,Stanly County Department of Health,and"Stanly Community College"all put the event together. "

The Rowan County Job Fair was held on Wednesday April 19,2017 and had 54 employers and 350 career seekers in attendance. The"NCWorks Career Center-Rowan,Centralina WDB,the City of Salisbury,Rowan-Salisbury School System,the Rowan Chamber of Commerce,Rowan-Cabarrus Community College,"and"Rowan Works"all partnered together for this event.
