Centralina Workforce Services Connects Nearly 1,000 Career Seekers With 180 Employers Through Local Job Fairs

The month of April has been a great month for career seekers and employers in the Centralina region. "The"Centralina Workforce Development Board"and"Centralina Workforce Services"held three major career fairs in Stanly,Rowan,and Union counties. "

On Thursday,April 6,2017,the"NCWorks Career Center-Union,Centralina WDB,South Piedmont Community College (SPCC),Union County Public Schools,and the Union County Chamber of Commerce"held a major job fair at"SPCC"s Charlotte Pipe & Foundry Conference Center in Monroe. " The Union County job fair had 80 employers and over 500 attendees.

"This was a great job fair with lots of good vendors. "It was well organized,and lots of fun things going on," said"Traci Smith,a Union County career seeker. "

The Stanly County Job Fair was held on Tuesday,April 11,2017 at"Stanly Commons"in Albemarle and had over 50 employers and 200 career seekers. "The"NCWorks Career Center-Stanly,Centralina WDB,Stanly County Chamber,Centralina NEXGEN Services,Stanly County Department of Health,and"Stanly Community College"all put the event together. "

The Rowan County Job Fair was held on Wednesday April 19,2017 and had 54 employers and 350 career seekers in attendance. The"NCWorks Career Center-Rowan,Centralina WDB,the City of Salisbury,Rowan-Salisbury School System,the Rowan Chamber of Commerce,Rowan-Cabarrus Community College,"and"Rowan Works"all partnered together for this event. Overall the Centralina Workforce Services and the NCWorks Career Centers in Rowan,Union,and Stanly counties together served nearly 1,000 individuals and helped 180 employers find talent.
