Centralina WDB hosts Professional Development Training in Transformational Business Engagement. On February 16th,Centralina hosted 32 workforce,education and economic development professionals for an 8 hour training on transformational customer centric business engagement. Each of the 4 Workforce Boards in the Southwest Region,(Centralina,CharlotteWorks,Gaston Works and Region C) were represented at the training.
The session was one of 6 full day training events conducted statewide and funded by the NC Department of Commerce,Division of Workforce Services. Led by Business U,an institutionally accredited national organization offering professional development learning events for workforce,education and economic development organizations,the attendees learned how to expand their portfolio of services to extend their reach and understand the benefits of working collaboratively with regional partners. Participants also were introduced to standardized engagement processes such as referrals with partner organizations,assessing employer needs to identify,validate and meet real-time hiring and training needs,and creating a metrics scorecard that matters to partner organizations and businesses/employers. Participants learned that a transformational approach is required to secure committed partnerships to engage businesses with sector strategies,career pathways,and social enterprise,all of which benefits job seekers with expanded opportunities.
