NCWorks-Anson Center Leader Freda Buchanan Completes Leadership Anson

Freda Buchanan, NCWorks Career Center-Anson Center Leader, is one of the newest graduates from the Leadership Anson program, a service of the Anson County Chamber of Commerce. The mission of Leadership Anson is to grow leadership capacity of the community. The program brings together emerging leaders of diverse backgrounds and experiences. Leadership Anson, a six-month program that nurtures and engages the leadership skills of potential and current community leaders, deepens participants' understanding of Anson County, its issues, and opportunities, and encourages graduates to take active roles as stewards and advocates for positive change. Since its start in 1998, Leadership Anson has graduated nearly 390 community leaders.

The Anson Chamber graduated its 26th class of community leaders on Tuesday, June 7th, as part of its Leadership Anson program. To celebrate the graduation, the class participants hosted a graduation ceremony at Loba Wakol USA in Wadesboro. The evening included a meal provided by Southern Q Catering and guest speaker Angela Caraway of The Caraway Foundation. Freda Buchanan was selected by her classmates to be the spokesperson for their class at their graduation ceremony. The Class of 2023 were Anya Alsobrook: Hampton B. This is just one of the many initiatives that Freda is involved in that benefit his community. It is a direct result of Freda's leadership and dedication that has developed the NCWorks Career Center-Anson into the leading source of employment services. The Centralina Workforce Development Board is proud of Freda Buchanan and her accomplishments!
