The NCWorks Career Center-Iredell/Statesville, led by Annisa Morton, Center Lead, welcomes Patrick Jones, NCWorks Workforce Development Intern to their team. Patrick will be working and learning the intricacies of workforce development for the next 10 weeks. Patrick is currently a sophomore at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is pursuing a double major in Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Contemporary European Studies. This is a great opportunity for the professionals on the NCWorks team to share the benefits of the NCWorks Career Centers with those who will be impacting our communities as leaders in the future. Patrick stated that, "It is very interesting to see how NCWorks is involved in the community and how it connects business needs with job seekers". This partnership and multiple other initiatives involving the Centralina Workforce Development Board, our NCWorks Career Centers, and the NC Department of Commerce provide ways for future leaders to benefit from services. The multiple partnerships of the Centralina Workforce Development Board with community support agencies, community colleges, economic development, and human services organizations in each of our seven counties have a focus on community growth and the advancement of opportunities for those living in our area.
The Centralina Workforce Development Board, NCWorks Career Centers, and our community partners continue to seek ways to improve our communities. Knowledge and partnerships will make our region stronger, more resilient, and ready to tackle the future challenges that lie ahead for our workforce.
