NCWorks Career Center-Rowan Works with Goodwill to Make Holidays Special for Local Youth

NCWorks Career Center-Rowan and Goodwill Industries of the Northwest Piedmont location in Salisbury teamed up this holiday season to help give back to children in need. The Angel Tree program is offered by Goodwill in Salisbury to provide Christmas services to over 95 local children. Many of these children are experiencing the trauma of having one or both parents incarcerated.
The Angel Tree program allows local businesses and individuals to “adopt” an angel for Christmas. NCWorks-Rowan adopted local youth named Allyaha, a two-year-old little girl who is experiencing the absence of a parent who is currently incarnated.
The NCWorks Career Center raised $90 in their effort to purchase special items on Allysha’s Christmas list, including an educational tablet, alphabet puppy, a laptop, and books.
