Imagine going on a job interview and employers are trying to impress you just as much as you are trying to impress them? Well, that’s what happens at a North Carolina Manufacturing Institute (NCMI) Reverse Job Interview Fair.
With a similar concept of speed dating, NCMI graduates who have completed the training meet local employers who are vying for them to join their company.
In June 2019, 8 NCMI students and about a dozen local manufacturing companies participated in the Reverse Job Interview Fair at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College.
“NCMI is a great resource for businesses to diversify their workforce recruitment efforts,” said Anna Lu Wilson, Centralina Workforce Development Board Business Engagement Coordinator who attended the event.
Donna Ludwig with Rowan-Cabarrus Community College says the purpose of this event is for graduates to make a connection with employers and get a job offer.
“What we hear repeatedly from the employers is: ‘Wow what a great group of candidates! We didn’t know what to expect, but this is way better than what we thought it was going to be,’ ” said Ludwig about the Reverse Job Interview Fair.
All 8 NCMI students recieved a job offer.
