Jun 05, 2019

On May 20, 2019, the Lincoln County Schools Business Advisory Board along with the Lincoln County School of Technology hosted the first Opportunity Job Fair for high school seniors in Lincoln County. The event focused on high school seniors in who weren’t sure of their next move after graduation.

Staff from the NCWorks Career Center-Lincoln participated in this event along with over 30 employers ranging from the food industry to manufacturing companies ready to help guide the youth to their next steps. About 150 students attended the event.

“We know that college is not for everybody, and there are those who will not be going to college so what we wanted to do is showcase the opportunities that are here in Lincoln County for those individuals,” said Anthony Simpson, Center Leader at the NCWorks Career Center-Lincoln and a Centralina Workforce Development Board member.
