Centralina Workforce Development Board to Provide Innovative Solution to Employer Talent Needs

Apr 25, 2019

The Centralina Workforce Development Board (WDB) and our local NCWorks Career Centers are proud to offer an innovative and creative way to connect job seekers looking for new or better opportunities with local businesses wanting to hire people right now. On Thursday May 16, 2019, the Centralina Virtual Career Marketplace will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. to connect talent with employment. Job seekers will pre-register for the event at https://centralina.easyvirtualfair.com/ and complete a candidate profile form with the ability to attach their resume. Employers will develop a virtual booth with information on their company. Virtual pavilions for each of the Centralina WDB counties (Anson, Cabarrus, Iredell, Lincoln, Rowan, Stanly, and Union) will house employers ready to hire.

The Centralina Virtual Career Marketplace will be accessible with any device, anywhere Internet service is available. This no-cost, easy to access event is user friendly and will provide tremendous benefits to career seekers and employers versus a traditional job fair.

For employers, you can:

· Design your own booth (using our no-cost, easy setup tool)

· Post job openings with clear description of job duties

· Link to company/promotional videos (easy to upload)

· Explain and promote why your businesses is an “employer of choice”

· Connect with job seekers via a chat or e-mail function (if desired)

· Get candidate profiles/resumes from job seekers who have visited your virtual booth and are interested in working for you

· Get analytics on the event (how many people visited your booth, how many clicked that they wanted to connect with your company, etc.)

· Have your small business compete on the same level as larger companies

· Do all this without the time, staffing, expense, and hassle of a traditional job fair or having to leave your office!

For job seekers, you can:

· Complete a simple job interest form and be able to attach your resume prior to the event and have them sent directly to the employers you choose

· Learn about local employers – their products/services, company culture, benefits, etc.

· Find out about available job openings and the job duties required

· Meet with employers LIVE online via chat or e-mail

· Do all this without the time, expense, and hassle of a traditional job fair!

With the Centralina Virtual Career Marketplace open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on May 16, it allows access at any time for job seekers. If you are already working (full-time, part-time, gig work), you can access the event before or after work. If you are a busy student, you can access the event before or after classes or during break. If you are an educator (middle school, high school, community college, university) and you want to expose your students to the great employers in the region, learn more about these employers, and find out about career opportunities without leaving the classroom, then the Centralina Virtual Career Marketplace is for you too.

“Connecting talent to employment in the 21st Century demands a state-of-the-art 21st Century solution”, said David Hollars, Centralina Workforce Development Board Executive Director. “We believe that the time is right for the Centralina Virtual Career Marketplace to offer employers and career seekers in our region a smarter choice in connecting to each other.”
