Centralina WDB Staff Keeps Region Informed on Integrated Service Delivery

The Integrated Service Delivery System continues to grow in the Centralina Workforce Development Board region,and as it does the Centralina WDB staff members are out in the community working hard to make sure the region hears about all the exciting changes.
As part of the outreach Patricia White,Centralina WDB Services Manager gave a presentation on the new NCWorks website to the Stanly County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors on Tuesday November 19,2013. The breakfast meeting was held at the Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle.
The live presentation provided a tour of the employer side of NCWorks and the functions available to employers and job seekers. The new NCWorks online will significantly increase the size and quality of the available talent pool,access to jobs and state of the art interface for employers looking to advertise jobs and recruit from the talent pool. Beyond simple keyword searches,the system allows multiple search criteria including occupations,industry,skills,salary,employer information and much more.
"Patricia was very well prepared and showed a lot of excitement about the new website. Not only was she excited,but she got a lot of our folks excited about it also," stated Ed Shimpock,Vice-President/Co-Owner of Seven Oaks Doors and Hardware,Inc.,and a Centralina WDB Board member. "It [NCWorks online] is going to help employers and customers in this slow market place to find each other much easier. I appreciate the Centralina WDB staff for all they do for the betterment of our region."
NCWorks is North Carolina"s new data system that delivers workforce development services to individuals 24 hours a day,7 days a week from any location with internet access. Customers can access employment and training assistance at home or anywhere and includes interfaces for Spanish-speaking customers as well as those that are visually impaired and is the pinnacle in job search technology!
