Attention All Businesses: Centralina WDB Wants to Help Fund Talent Development for Your Current Workforce

For the local business owner,it is becoming tougher and tougher to find the right resources and training to help make their employees and their businesses even more productive. Existing industries need talented human capital in order to grow and thrive. That"s where the Centralina Workforce Development Board can help. With funding provided by the NC Department of Commerce,the Centralina WDB can offer training grants to local businesses through the Incumbent Workforce Development Program.
The Incumbent Workforce Development Program is a competitive,retention solutions grant. Qualifying businesses can use this grant to address employees" skills gaps,resulting in increased knowledge,certifications,and value to the company. Addressing employees" skills gaps also contributes to a company"s competitiveness in regional and global economies.
So you may ask how my business can benefit from this grant opportunity. On Thursday February 13 and Friday February 14 the Centralina Workforce Development Board will be hosting Incumbent Workforce Development Program Information sessions.
These workshops are open to anyone interested in applying for or simply finding out more regarding the Incumbent Workforce Development Program offered through the Centralina Workforce Development Board.
The first session is on Thursday February 13,2014 and will be held at the NC Research Campus at the NC State University"s Plants for Human health Institute in Kannapolis. The session will begin at 10:00 AM and to register please contact Vail Carter at (704) 348-2710.
The second session is on Friday February 14,2014 and will be held at South Piedmont Community College"s Monroe Campus. The session will begin at 10:00 AM and to register please contact Vail Carter at (704) 348-2710.
The new Incumbent Workforce Development Program guidelines for Program Year 2013 have been released and posted on the Centralina Workforce Development Board"s website. The second round of applications are due to the Centralina Workforce Development Board by Monday March 17,2014.
The grant application process is simple and the Centralina WDB will assist you if needed. This may your last chance to get the funds you need to make a difference for your company,your employees,and your community. Again,economic growth will be gained by all those who take advantage of this great opportunity. But,you will never know unless you apply!
